ABC's of the Word...B

Deuteronomy 33:12
"About [insert your name] He said:Let the BELOVED of the LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between His shoulders."

This will always be a favorite verse of mine. I received it at the She Speaks conference last summer after praying at the cross. It marks a milestone in my life: no more living in who I was from my past, but living in who I was in Christ, present tense-Secure in Him.

How is it that we can know that we can live securely in Him? Because we are His BELOVED.

"BELOVED" is defined as "greatly loved; dear to the heart."* YOU are greatly loved and dear to our Saviors heart. Rest in that today. Take time to praise Him for this perfect gift-His love. No matter where we are in life, no matter what we have done (good or bad), no matter the attitude of our heart, He loves us (present tense). Notice I didn't say He loved us (past tense). We are His BELOVED.

Pam,

You are such a delight to my tender heart and I receive much joy at how you grasp the power of REDEMPTION! Redemption brings no greater joy when we receive it, live it, believe it. He is so worthy!!! He loves US! :-)

Love to you,
Yolanda

I love the word beloved. I love to be referenced as HIS beloved. Ahh...some endearment. I hope it is not offensive to anyone, especially to God, that through my trial I picked up the habit of referring to my not-legally husband as my beloved. My heart feels him as my husband but the courts say otherwise so I don't feel "right" calling him that on my blog or such. It's grown to be such a term of endearment to me and it reflects how I feel toward him and the covenant between we three. And I guess, according to the definition, it does fit...he is greatly loved by me and dear to my heart.
Sweet blessings,
Paula

BELOVED Pamela...I LOVE what you wrote for defining BELOVED!!! I love how this verse has BECOME your BLESSED verse! However it should read..."no more living in who I was from my past..." but living in who I AM in Christ (that's present tense)! "I KNOW WHO I AM"...is the perfect song and Ephesians personalized makes your identity strong in HIM! Praising & secure
as HIS BELOVE...I will always treasure...this REST secure in Him, My SHIELD! Thank you so much for sharing this timely verse to remind us constantly of His unfailing, unconditional LOVE!!!
