O God, you are my God, EARNESTLY I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. ~ Ps 63:1-3 (NIV)
What does it mean to be EARNEST? It is an action word which dictionary.com describes as "with a purposeful or sincere intent; serious; determined". Think back to when you became "EARNEST" about your faith and your relationship with God. When did you become purposeful, serious and determined? It came about for me when I became broken of me and broken for Him.
As we are working through the Esther study in our community Bible study, Beth so sweetly stated:
"You cannot amputate your history from your destiny...your past and your future shares the same root--Jesus"!
Does not your past make you want to be more EARNEST in your search of not only more faith but also for your destiny? Your personal destiny? Your destiny as a wife or mother? As a women of God? Our destiny, our purpose in Christ is revealed when we EARNESTLY seek Him and allow Him to use all of who we are..the good, the bad, the ugly...the forgiven, the redeemed, the lovely.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who EARNESTLY seek Him. ~ Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
Lord, I chose to be EARNEST for you. It is the word I chose to live by, not just for today but always. EARNESTLY I will seek you Lord. Grow my faith. Amen.
Be EARNEST ladies!

Oh my...this one hit home. I have a totally free day today and I am sensing a HUGE need to be earnest in pursuing God today....I'm in need.
This morning in my quiet time, early...I prayed for you concerning Esther. How is that coming along?
My we never loose the fire that begain to drive us to God, His Word, to the blood of Jesus.
Love YOU
Yes! Earnestly. How serious am I? Actually pretty serious, but, I CAN tend to allow myself to get distracted, discouraged or too comfortable...these are dangers I must "stay strong in the Lord and the power of His might" against, so that I may live a fruitful and effective life in Him. In other words I must continue to strive to be earnest in my pursuit of Christ.
Most excellent thoughts from the word, Pamela!
I am very gald to meet you!

This was a special reminder that our fire for the Lord so often comes from those wilderness times when earnestly seeking God becomes our main focus. May I earnestly pursue abiding in him in all times..struggle and ease.

Dear Pamela,
This verse from Psalm 63 always brings a smile to my face -- "my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water."
I do live in a dry and weary land where there is no water, far from my home of lush greenery and riots of blossoms.
Thank you for your message to earnestly seek God. I hope you post more about your study of Esther. It sounds interesting.
All the best, Lana
I began to earnestly search for God about six years ago after participating in my first Beth Moore study. It changed my life.
I, also, loved that quote from Beth. Used it recently at a speaking engagement.
Hope all is well; been thinking about you.

Good Morning, Pam!!
Earnest--this is a good action word!! In order to be earnest, we must be doing something--not sitting back and just letting the world go back. We must be actively pursuing!!
Sometimes I am more earnest than other times. A good reminder to me that I need to be in full earnestness at all times!!
Thanks!!
Beth
Earnest - what a great way to describe how we are to follow God! I love your bit about our past and future being connected. How true, God weaves it all together in ways we never expect! I needed that today!
BLessings,
Jill
Thenks for this reminder to focus on what is truly important.
