ABC's of the Word

Hey Ladies! I am new to this but is seems like so much fun! Forgive me if I do not do this completly right. Pam at Grey Like Snuffie is the host of "ABC's of the Word" every Thursday. This week we are to find a verse with an "A" word.

In my personal Bible study I am doing by Beth Moore, Believing God, I read this verse last night while waiting for the girls at gymnastics:

Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do AMAZING things among you." ~ Joshua 3:5

Listen to the Beth Moore version:

"If you set yourself APART to me, I will distinguish Myself to you in ways more wonderful and miraculous than you have ever imagined."

Gotta love the message for us today from this piece of scripture--amazing--apart--two totally separate and different words give us such a powerful message of what we can count on from God when we do our part. I so want to see Him and hear Him and to know Him-don't you?!?!?!?
Blessings!

Good morning Pamela...thank you so much for joining in. And please feel free to do whatever gets stirred up in you each week. There really aren't rules about how you do this.

I just finished Believing God with a small group of ladies...my first Moore study. WOW, she gets excited...and God imparts a lot through her. I also started Esther last week with another group of ladies.

I LOVE that Joshua scripture...I ponder and wonder a lot about anything and everything so the whole imagining area with God is part of my soul.

Pamela I pray that you have a grand day with Him!

I love Pam, how each day as I get quiet before Him, let go of the worldly distractions....how much His word leaps off the pages of Holy Script and impact my heart.

He is AMAZING!

I adore Him so.

Lovingly,
Yolanda

Pamela, thank you for your insight into this verse. Yes, amazing, indeed! You know, when you mentioned setting us apart for Him it reminded me that we are to be in the world but not OF it. More food for thought.

Mercy, grace and peace, Lana

I wait in anticipation of what He will do in my "tomorrow". Oh, yes, Lord, make Yourself known to me in spectacular ways. Bring it on, Lord. I'm all ears, all eyes for You.

Pamela,
There has always been something about the thought of being "set apart" for God that just makes me all warm inside, not to mention the added desire to please and honor our Lord for His goodness!
Bless you,
pat
